“We empower and inspire people to reduce their waste through meaningful relationships and collaboration.”
Seattle Zero Waste was created by passionate zero wasters with the goal of bringing like-minded people together. Working as a zero waste community, we can share sustainability tips and tricks, expand our ideas for reducing waste, and have a stronger voice as we vote with our dollar. We started as a group of four people getting together to talk about how to live with less waste and take care of the environment. Since the initial gathering in 2016, the group has grown to 1500+ followers on Instagram, a 6000+ member Facebook group, and 30+ people who meet every month in Seattle to share ideas and have fun! Emma Heaslet (she/her)
Emma always had an interest in environmentalism, but after moving to Seattle from Memphis, TN, her passion really ignited. She is passionate about mending, reducing waste to landfill, and supporting the second-hand economy. She loves making do with less!
Cheryl Schneiderhan (she/her)
Katie Brown (she/her)
Katie’s discovery of zero waste in 2018 kicked off her sustainability learning journey! She loves helping Seattle’s circular economy and practicing mindful consumption.
