Our Monthly Socials have always been a place for people to meet others virtually, face to face, and discuss zero waste living. We encourage you to find ways to spread hope, take steps towards equality, and support people and planet during this time in history.
The Seattle Zero Waste Leadership Team
The heart of Seattle Zero Waste is meaningful relationships and collaboration. Pre-pandemic they met monthly in person to be empowered and inspired to reduce waste. Attend the social to meet others face to face at a local business with similar values. To attend, please register here.

Join us here on Facebook LIVE on Thursday, December 2nd at 3:30PM in a deep-dive discussion around plastic film recycling with our friends at Ridwell!
Recently our Seattle Zero Waste community had a number of questions and concerns about what Ridwell can take in their plastic film recycling program.
With so many passionate members who are very interested in detailed explanations, Aliya and Gerrine from Ridwell have offered to address these questions in a virtual event! They will describe in detail how Ridwell works with partners and the processes they use to ensure that millions of pounds of material sourced from Ridwell members are being reused or recycled.
If you can’t join us live on Facebook, please submit any questions you have regarding this topic in the comments below before the event and we will add them to the Q&A session.
The event will also be recorded to be viewed at a later date. We hope to see you there!

Saturday, September 18th is International Coastal Cleanup Day! People around the world will head out to remove accumulated trash from their local shorelines and beaches. Together, we will document the types of debris entering our waterways in an effort to inform practical solutions to the global problem of marine trash.
Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases driven by the Delta variant, Puget Soundkeeper is implementing a vaccination requirement for any volunteers signing up, and asks that all clean-up attendees wear masks when physical distancing isn’t feasible. If anyone is experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms or has been exposed, we ask you not sign up for these events.

Zero Waste in the Workplace
Come to this workshop at Scoop Marketplace to learn how to design and implement sustainability initiatives at work. We'll guide you through a step-by-step process that will help you make your workplace more earth-friendly, provide information and resources that will help you confidently make sustainable decisions, discuss challenges you might face along the way, and brainstorm potential solutions. Add on a one-hour strategy session (see ticket options), if you are looking for more time with us! During this session, we will have a one-on-one deep dive into a specific sustainability challenges you need support working through.
The workshop led by Moji Igun - the founder of Blue Daisi Consulting, a sustainability consulting firm for businesses who want to work towards zero waste. She gives business owners the tools and resources they need to reduce waste and implement sustainable practices. They're based in Seattle and work with clients nationwide.
"The True Cost reveals the high price of the low-cost fast-fashion industry, from toxic production to rapid waste, from low-wage workers to carcinogenic pollution, pesticides, and death. Showing more environmentally just and wiser options, the film features stories of people organizing for fair trade and sustainable clothing production. After the film, speakers from Seattle Zero Waste and other groups will answer questions, lead discussion, and give options for action.
Free refreshments provided. Doors open at 6PM.
