Help Zero Waste Washington pass bills that ensure companies shift from producing unnecessary plastic and invest in sustainable alternatives. Vote PRO for the upcoming Renew Act (SB5697) and Organic Materials Management Act (HB1799). This request is time sensitive!
The Renew Act would fund improvements to Washington’s recycling system, create access to free curbside recycling statewide, and a clear list of what is locally recyclable, leading to increased recycling of more than 40%. The Organic Management Act would ban plastic product stickers, provides incentives for composting, and requires color-marked compostable foodware.
